Youngryan7
Please see attached. Anyone else had any of the same faults? oil light staying on.. sounds rough and reduced power... Solutions please
TomsFocus
Ah, you didn't say the oil light was on before. The variable cans work by oil pressure. Your oil pump has probably failed or at the least is blocked up, not uncommon on the 1.0EB.

I found this thread from your post and is exactly the same issues I’m having ill let the garage know before they charge me for a new engine.... Youngryan7
Update had the oil pump replaced, oil filter, engine oil and gaskets.. Car fixed. Cost me an arm and a leg but would’ve been more if I changed sensors etc to get to the problem. Thanks again!
Youngryan7
Ok so all has been good until yesterday and I’ve got p0420 and p042d.... I cleared it yesterday morning and was in it in throughout the day and was fine. To work this morning fine but on the way home back on again. car has not long had a new lamba sensor put on it cos I had p0420-9 catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank 1 flag up. any ideas? Other than burning the car
TomsFocus
Was it a genuine lambda sensor? The cheap ones are usually crap. Is it going limp or flashing the EML? If not I'd just ignore it tbh. It's possible that the cat has actually been damaged by petrol if it was misfiring bad enough before.
