UHHH the major recall of ecoboost engines between 2011 and 2013 because a lot of them are setting themselves on fire due to a faulty hose aparently , search facebook for fordecoboostnightmare... there is a class action lawsuit as well apparently

I have read somewhere that coolant pipe issue was related to the 1.0 ecoboost focus and not the fiesta , it was related to the coolant return pipe from the turbo to the coolant reservoir , it was made from cheap plastic that couldn't handle the pressure and eventually blows off. even if the fiesta is also affected, a 2013 ecoboost fiesta that's still trouble free up till now means that either it was recalled and fixed, or it has the redesigned coolant pipe that has no issues. according to the posted pics also I think its the same pipe I has in my 2019 mk8 fiesta, I guess no need to worry.

thanks for the replies thus far , its got 55k on the clock ... my understanding is that it was multiple brands fiesta, c-max, focus and puma that were affected in that specific date range... i read elsewhere from other forums that they havent resolved the issue inspite of sorting the pipe material issue, wondered what people with more subject matter knowledge than me think on the matter... (i dont know that much )

If anyone knows about these engines and can let me know at a glance if they think it looks good , (i know that you dont know unless you take the engine apart but i cant obvisouly do that) i will take what ever i can and appreciate the input

I can’t see from your photos but have a read of this thread and make sure you don’t have this problem.

These engines are fine as long as you service them according to schedule with the correct oil, and check the coolant regularly. They don’t deal well with overheating incidents though. I’ve added an actual temperature gauge (Ultra Gauge) from the OBD2 port to monitor temps in real time, as the dash gauge warns way too late.

The degas hose (between turbo and reservoir) is fine, it's not the faulty one.

Those metal turbo pipes don't look great though, and the black metal one just to the left looks very rusty as well.  If you do buy the car, it would be worth cleaning that up, treating with rust remedy and then painting it to stop it getting any worse.

You can check Ford ETIS to see if your car is currently due any recalls but I don't think it will be.
