When I renewed the brakes on mine last year (13 years old) the rear calipers in particular were binding a bit but I managed to get them to rotated using set of grips. Are you looking to replace the calipers or refurb them using the type of kit sold by companies like "Big Red"?

He just wants to replace the pads.

williamweb
Undoing the brake nipple apparently helps although i haven’t tried. If using an adapter I find having a long lever makes rotation a lot easier 👍

To be hoped they aren't binding badly otherwise the new brake pads aren't going to be long for this earth.
