Missed this one lol. Don't often come to this part of the forum.

Anyway, if you're lowering the car at all, then I'd definitely recommend rack limiters.

Perhaps look into getting the back windows tinted? You'd be surprised how much of a difference it makes to the look of the car.

I definitely do not recommend getting the back windows tinted, especially if you do not have rear parking sensors. Its almost impossible to see out the back, even during the day. My biggest mistake. I didn't notice that our Fiesta (Titanium) had dark rear windows, even though it was so dark looking in the rear view mirror (I thought it must be the mirror itself [and the TrustFord salesman, Jagan, even then didn't correct me]. It was only after I had paid for it and driven it away and parked it and got out that it became apparent to me, from the outside, that the windows were black. First evening out I reversed until I could hear the parking sensors. Trouble was there weren't any. Not realising how badly I couldn't see out the back, I had reversed (gently) into another car.

Thank you for the warning, but with having a titanium x, I have sensors all round and a rear parking camera, so seeing out the back wont be much of an issue though I will be putting a slightly lighter tint on the rear window so that it should still be slightly usable.

Thanks

Tints are designed to still let some light through. During the day, you can still see perfectly out of the windows. At night it becomes a bit harder yes, but that's what side mirrors are for. Thousands of people have aftermarket tints fitted every year (let alone the millions of cars fitted from factory) and I've never heard anyone complain that they can no longer see out of the back.

After all, how do you think van drivers reverse? They don't all have sensors.

I'd say a 20% tint (which is around the factory level I think) is a good one to go for. You can't see in, but isn't so dark you can never see out.

Ok, no biters,  Och well, I bought 3 headlights off fleebay, 2 rd ones and a zetec/titanium, as above, one of the rs lights has been sanded for some reason, so, the zetec/titanium one donated it's clear lens, problem sorted ( or so I thought), some idoit cut the indicator plug off, so the spare light sorted that, started cleaning the fingerprints etc off the lens, and anywhere visable and I stupidly sprayed some glass cleaner on the chrome cap that wraps around the hid "eye", went to wipe it off

20191201_185926.thumb.jpg.2a853bf7915408944eddc67cc250ba49.jpg

So I had to open the practically perfect other side to remove the chrome from that one so they looked the same

From these

Just finished a 4 hour cure tigerseal ( just removed the tape for pics),  get some pics tomorrow of them on the car, I did do a sneaky tonight (I've not been to sleep yet) and I think they look better than they did with the chrome covered "cap".

More pics tomorrow

Here they are on the car,

And a wee close up

I think they look better without the chrome on the "cap thing", It was a bugger having to open a perfect headlight for that stupid little thing, but ultimately I think it was worth it.

Might of been able to clear that sanded lens up with a good machine polish.

Yeah the seller had said that too, but it I didnt think it would look same as an untouched lens.

Just had notification that my black Friday autobeam order has finally shipped, so black sequential mirror indicators here we come😁

Finally found out how to strip the handbrake mechanism off of the st calipers thanks to biggred ( bought caliper rebuild kits from them, so I asked them and they were very helpful), so I might do a little how to, incase anyone else wants to do there's.

Finally, my sequential black mirror indicators arrived, look ***** brilliant

A big visual improvement over the bright chrome ones (not really a fan if chrome on new cars), here's a little gif of them working

I think that, haswell as the autobeam rear fog, reverse and puddle lights, will be the final parts of 2019.

This has been an expensive last 6 months for us, but we're happy with how kiddo is ending the year,  next year will see the fitting of the st brakes, aswell as a host of other pretty and performance bits, maybe even an attempt at a car show or 2.

Merry Christmas, seasons greetings to one and all, and here's to a fantastic 2020.....  I mean the year, not the drink (if anyone here is old enough to remember  it 😜)

Can't go wrong with autobeam. Did you get the autobeam performance rear brake lights? Have them on my car and they are so bright I can see road signs lit up by them more than 5 house lengths in the dark.

I have front rear indicators, brake, 2 rear fog, switchback front fog, reverse, sequential mirrors, d3s bi xenon bulbs and front puddle lights, gonna need to do something about the stock led rear side light (2am, brains went to mush thinking of what therr actually called 😔) as there rather weak looking now, especially because wifey wants the taillights tinted/smoked

The reverse lights are so bright that with they light up the rear at night for way safer reversing, and are superb if you have a reverse camera.

Finally got the disc conversion done though it was a ***** pain, first didn't realise a rear caliper bleed nipple threads were stripped so ordered a new caliper, rear disc backing plates did not line up with the hub holes (were ordered from my local ford dealership), then noticed on of my rear tyres were skating the limit so the summer 18's are back on. I think the car needs 19's but tyres are bleeding expensive, I think the 255's were too much with the et42 offset as they were rubbing on the inside of the front wing (excuse the picture), so we are thinking of selling the 19 inch fox fx004's but unsure atm.

Managed to get a great deal on a full set of st3 seats.

20200225_130922.thumb.jpg.440e7ac1a33e345ca695b13352f362d9.jpg20200225_140558.thumb.jpg.fe0be2a4ba972ba6a6791c13d2a48663.jpg

So much more supportive than the stock seats.

Also grabbed a cheap k&n filter from fleebay

and lastly, I have been messing with carbon fibre, and I have tried to mold the steering wheel emblem.

20200301_154430.thumb.jpg.88b0ce94e4812722803c10bb3d6881d9.jpg

definitely not a professional piece but I think imnslowly getting the hang of it.

So look out for some more carbon work in the future.

Thanks

Thanks, well I do have st brakes, seats, front wishbones and anti roll bar, but I'm not going to be an st wannabe, we want kiddo to look unique which in this post "max power" world will require alot of thought and planning but we plan on having her for a long time so theres no rush.

Got some more goodies ordered, gonna take a couple weeks as there being made.

The red and blue are not as blotchy as the camera makes them look, it's just the camera
