TomsFocus
Erm...that's not meant to be separate. That is the bottom of the intercooler. It's missing the two locator pegs on the bottom as well. Whole thing needs replaced. Has the car been in a front end impact?
fordlynx
Yeah it had a little bang on front before I bought it, and it was leaking a little oil down there so I took out the intercooler and there was 2 m10m bolts glued to were the holes are now so I removed the 2 bolts and the bottom plastic and rubber gasket to see what was going on, should there be oil in the black plastic bit and whats the gasket for???? That shouldn't have come apart at all, the plastic should be permanently pressed onto the metal. It's clearly been broken and someone's just bodged it, there will be a massive boost leak there! A bit of oil in the intercooler is totally fine, it should be a sealed unit so you'd never normally see inside.
