sioneon
What sort of things should be looked out for when buying 1 second hand? Probably looking at something 15-66 plate.
Tiexen
Make a note of the registration and V5C reference numbers and check the car’s MOT status and details from 2005 online at Gov.uk. This will tell you the mileage readings at tests, dates of previous MOTs, and any faults found. Check with the DVLA that the car’s colour, engine size/number and date of registration match the V5C (log book). It’s also worth checking the vehicle identification number (VIN) under the bonnet to see if this matches the paperwork.
TomsFocus
Make sure it's not been written off is probably the first check! A lot of them have either been stolen recovered or wrapped around a tree... Also check for outstanding finance. The 1.6 EB engine is known for overheating faults which have caused engine fires in rare cases so make sure it's had the coolant recall done. Other than that, I don't think there are any major Mk7.5 specific issues.
sioneon
Cheers chaps. I knew about the coolant issue, so just the regular checks. Any worries with high mileage ones or ones that have low mileage for their age?
