Rust (or rather body access) query please? Focus Mk2

Featured Replies

Query number two today!:  This time it's about rust - or rather 'access' to deal with some rust

Basically once one has taken off the offside plastic inner wing spray shield, how much 'further' can one reach rearwards before hitting the next bulkhead? If it's as much as maybe 2 to 4 inches then I can easily fix the rust in the rim of the lower arch without welding.  Much more than that then I might have to work out how to 'enter' the sill box, and I guess that'll mean welding!

I have sent for a Haynes manual, but that might not show me the sort of detail that will help with this issue.

Any info would be very welcome,

Thanks,
