Dazed Cmax owner
C Max 1.8 TDCI will not start when engine hot! Will start like a champ from cold, will also start if left for around 2 hours to cool down. Checked temp sensor (works fine) changed fuel pressure sensor, changed fuel filter twice, garage diagnostic shows low fuel pressure, but haven't managed to get to diesel specialist (he's away for another 2 weeks) Short of changing high pressure fuel pump we are all at a lose (trying least expensive aspects as money is very tight) Any ideas as only vehicle available & need it for work & hospital runs, cheers. TomsFocus
Is it turning over slower when warm? The HP pump is driven directly by the engine so needs to be turning over quickly to get the fuel pressure up. There is a common issue on VAG cars where the extra resistance from hot starter/wiring stops them starting when warm as they just can't quite turn over fast enough. Dazed Cmax owner
Hi TomsFocus, Starters sounds like it's turning over fine (from what I can hear & feel?) But it's something we haven't thought of as yet, cheers for the info it's got to be worth a try.
