Ford Focus mk2 1.4 (EU) Pollen Filter Replace

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

Can you help me I'm stuck. So, I took out the glove box and cleared the way to my pollen filter door, BUT, some kind of aluminium pipe goes across the way and I cannot take out the pollen filter door. Any idea what should I do? (The car has AC).  Also I tried at the other side where the pedals are but without any success. There are three hex nuts holding the gas pedal, one at the bottom and two at the top, but I cannot reach the top ones. Any idea ?

Thanks in advance!

Is the car left hand drive?

Assuming it is LHD, you just need to find a suitable tool to reach the throttle pedal nuts.

Its left hand drive. So I need to go from the pedals side not the glove box?

Yes, the filter will only come out of the pedals side due to the pipes on the other side as you've seen.

Thanks, guys, I give it a try with some tool combinations

You need a deep 10 mm socket to remove gas pedal bolts. Also you need 7 mm socket to remove the screws from the lid of the filter box. Be careful, do not unplug the gas pedal connector (Ford Repair Manual limits this to 10 times, after you need new gas pedal). Try to push it upward and fix it somehow. Remove the filter by bending it outwards, try not to touch connector wires. In total 30-45 min job.
