auldreekie
Is a 14" spacesaver steel wheel ok for 2019 Fiesta Active with 17" alloys?
Westville
You will need to consider the rolling radius of the "spare" wheel ideally should be the same as the existing alloys (ie the size of the wheel and tyre combined) It will obviously need to fit on your studs and hub so you need to know some info about the wheel's PCD, Offset and tyre width and depth "Spacesavers" are TEMPORARY wheels designed to save space in the boot and to get you moving at low speeds for short distances only - they can damage some vehicles if used for too long and do affect the handling and drive of the car Have a look at the many calculators available on the web to see what effect wheel and tyre sizes have on the offset and size of your "spare" - I use this one which gives you graphic information and also measurements for both old and new wheels https://www.willtheyfit.com/ HTH
auldreekie
Thank Westville, this 14" spaces aver is in the new 2019 fiesta active I am collecting on Monday from Ford dealership. As alloys on car are 17" I thought spacesaver would be bigger. I'm sure Ford know what they are doing (is that laughing I hear in the background) 😊😊😊

auldreekie
Thanks pragmatic, I guess my concern was would it fit over the caliper.
alexp999
The only reason to have a bigger wheel (not tyre) is to fit over the brakes. A 14" will fit fine over the standard Fiesta brakes, it will have a high profile tyre on it, so the overall diameter isn't too different. isetta
on the mk7.5 fiesta the 14inch space saver was not a skinny space saver , it was a 14inch full size wheel as used on the base models and the Econetic diesel models. 175/65/14 tyre. I do not know if it is same on mk8 but if it is, then it is much better in my view than the skinny space savers used on some other cars as it is wider and uses a normal pressure, instead of a very narrow one with much higher pressure.
