I didn't realise that your phone actually updated the android auto in the car. Tried new version today and is a little smarter (which wouldn't be hard)

Unless it doesn't but the phone pushes the whole interface each time. None know how it works?

    Most of the work is done by your phone, but it's a bit of both. And of course the in app interface is driven by each compatible app too.
