Auxillary Port

Hello

I recently purchased a second hand Ford Fiesta Edge 61 plate from a local dealership. 

Whether I have an Aux jack plugged in or not the digital screen in my car displays as 'Line In Active'.

I am attempting play music from my Samsung S7 device through the aux to my car. The only sound I can hear is from the phone itself with both volumes in car and on mobile turned up.

Have you just turned up the phones system volume or the media volume too?

I have turned up volumes on both. All I hear on my car when turned up is static.
