Where to advertise my Edge dog guard

Hello All,

After a number of problems with our Edge, and complete main dealer indifference, I traded in our Edge for something else. I still miss what was a great design of car, let down by build quality, and our local dealer. However, I have a Ford Edge Dog Guard (2015 onwards) (part no.G1468) by Guardsman for sale, and was wondering where was best to advertise it, on this site or eBay, given the relative rarity of the cars. Opinions please!

eBay is probably best for you, the item may be a bit too specialised for most members on here.

+1 mate

If it was for a focus I'd buy it; as I'm in the market  for one,

if I could afford an edge I'd buy it though,

The edge looks much better than the kuga, od rather a juke than the kuga 🤦‍♂️ probably get banned for saying that but it's TRUE 😬

Facebook Marketplace is well worth trying - costs nothing and very easy to use

I've got one for a Focus estate (mk3). I had it in my ST. It's a Travall metal one. Let me know if interested.

Just to keep you all updated, I’m too far for Nick (I’m close to J24 of M1), so I’ll pop it on eBay tomorrow.

@Guinness, did you sell your dog guard ?  Just been talked into getting a dog.  I live in Edinburgh but due to go to Northampton on 7th October, so passing Leicestershire, if it’s still for sale.

Against my better judgement, a Cockerpoo ***** !  Some might say it’s not a proper dog. Used to be called a mongrel, but now it’s a designer breed. 😜

Nice.  Similarly both parents are pedigree in our case. Dad is a miniature Poodle and Mum is a Cocker.  We don’t take possession until the start of October.

I dont see that as a mongrel neither as both parents are pedigree breeds,

Not sure if you have a "Maxi zoo" store but they do some great deals on a dog start kit; we got the training crate, bed, bowls, teething toy, collar and a few other bits as a pack which we got to pick each item overall saved €54 compared to purchasing each item individually,

They recommend having bed and bowl in position from the first day and never change it, also a hot water bottle helps for the first few nights along with a piece of blanket which its mother lay on,

We put the training crate in the kitchen and at night have it half bed half news paper, gets them used to going on paper then put paper in back garden until they get used to going outside where the paper is,

I'm sure you have your own plans, just thought I'd share my experience only had ours a few weeks well a month now

Our Cockapoo is a proper dog, they are great! (he's even got a Scottish name) ...

He even looked like Rod Stewart when he was younger!

Very nice @simonb65.  I’ll show my wife and daughter your photos. I’m told they don’t cast hair much, which is great in my books.

@Lenny thanks. Im semi retired but now work part time in an agricultural & pet retail store, so get staff discount on everything I’m likely to need.

I’m very wary now that I’ve hijacked this thread and turned it into ‘our pets’.  Wasn’t intended.

@Guinness - Not sure if you saw the previous message.  Is the dog guard still available or have you sold it on eBay ?

Hi Edge of Reason,

No, I still have it!  I haven’t got around to putting it on eBay if you are interested. It comes with instructions, but without the 14 year old rather porky ‘miniature’ Dachshund!

Does anyone know of a guard for the EDGE that has mesh covering roof to floor, so that the back seats can be folded down without the obvious 'gap' the standard guard leaves?

Excellent. We are going from Edinburgh to Northampton and back on Monday October 7th. Not sure of timing yet, but if you are likely to be available, then I’d like to buy the dog guard please. We only get the wee pup later that day, so the dog guard won’t really be necessary for a while yet, but best get prepared.
