my ford focus was running and it was  going great i thought in ran out of fuel so i put 30 quid of deisal l in it but wont start tried open number one injector but fuel getting thought but wont start any help would be great thanks

Non-Starting could be caused by any number of things

Have you had it checked for fault codes? Otherwise you may be fixing the wrong problem(s)

The 1.8 TDCi is VERY sensitive to air in the system, when your car intially "stalled" do you think it is likely to have actually run out of fuel?  (bearing in mind from the point where the trip computer says "zero miles" range left, a car will typically still contain around 5 litres reserve.

 

If it did run dry, the 1.8 TDCi can be a bit of a pig to restart.  There no pump in the tank so if the system gets a decent amoutn of air in it, it usually ends up needing to be hand primed with a pump.  I've got the same engine in my MK2 and do my own servicing, my preferred method for getting the car going post service is

• Fit the new fuel filter
• Keep topping it up with diesel until it stops absorbing anymore fuel
• Quickly screw the filter housing lid on, ensuring the o-ring/rubber seal is seated correctly (I'm assuming the older version of the engine that is fitted to the MK1 Focus uses the same fuel filter/housing arrangement as the MK2).
• Connect up the sensor and pipes.
• Crank it for 3-4 seconds and once mine fires it's usually good to go.

 

Occasionally I've had to follow the procedure a 2nd time but I suspect this was due to not getting the black rubber seal to sit quite right when ***** the housing lid back on.  It also needs to be tightened right up to ensure no air can get back in.

 

If it's not the above issue then it may have developed a leak somewhere i.e. it's letting air into the fuel system.
