Aww bless him!  I forgot the cat's last 2 birthdays, remembered their 3rd but the best they got was "happy birthday now go eat your food and leave me alone!"

To be honest; if we weren't in lockdown and our kids were in school,

Then I wouldn't have been celebrating it as much, but since there off school especially our five year old son is missing pre-school as all they did was sing songs and celebrate each other's birthday,

He's missing that, and we were all conceived around valintines day so were all winter babies in this house both ourselves and the kids except for the eldest daughter she's in june 😅 sort of lost control of the process that time

So I thought we would go get a cake and a dog Birthday hat with scarf on Amazon; the kids got great enjoyment from it; they blew up balloons and had a trail of little treats leading to the kitchen in preparation for him returning from a 10km walk thismorning; they then jumped out to surprise him,

Some people in work today thought I was crazy; saying it's just a dog but he sleeps in our kitchen and gives proper hugs; puts his paws around your neck lol and it was more to entertain the kids to celebrate his birthday and have some cake; just like they did at school.

Well they say cats (maybe dogs also?) only sleep on their backs (exposing their undercarriage) when they feel safe in their surroundings, so we must be doing something right!!

RE her coat yes it is very soft, her brother has longer hair so I think one of their parents was a long hair and one a short, so they are kind of a mixture...

My greyhound Frankie seems to prefer car shows too.  Frankie doesn't like sudden howler monkeys calling out on nature programs

Whereas, Pipper the springer spaniel appears to watch with interest (tilting her head), her professional cousin spaniels find "things" on Police Interceptors &Traffic Cops

Poor Liam has been brought to the vets thismorning to be neutered

20200622_100343.thumb.jpg.048bc28057a65fd376230a8b26f3fa87.jpg

had to get the muzzle in order to bring him to the vets he's completely harmless,

He's been fasting since 18:00 yesterday; brought him for a 10km walk thismorning then over to the vets; got weighed 22.8kg then held him while the vet gave him the anesthetic, I then carried him down to a cage along with the pink blanket from home,

Collecting him later this evening; I've took two days off work to be with him.

Hi thanks for asking;

I took the two days off work there and took him to the vets at 10am o  the monday; poor fella was so nervous I had to carry him in to the vets like scooby doo, he then leaked liquid from his bum on my Jean's; so I smelled lovely & had to change as soon as I got home,

But anyways; went in to the vets and the vet got me to hold him while he was weighed and I carried him down to a cage then told him Goodnight that I'd see him later; just the same as I would if we were at home.

We then went home and it was the longest day of watching the clock and watching the phone; waiting for the call to go and collect the poor fella; hes afraid of other dogs and other people; we don't have many visitors especially not since lockdown and he lives in the house spends alot of time with us; so I didn't like seeing him be alone without us as it was very traumatic for him being alone with strangers that's really how soft hearted he is.

It was five in the evening when the vets called to say call to collect; so we all went in the car to pick him up again; when we got there I paid for the service first but when adding up the invoice; I noted they forgot to give him his one year old vaccine for rabies,

The receptionist advised that I would need to make another appointment for it to be done; However a female vet was there at the time and said that she would do it today as she had saw he was very nervous earlier in the day,

So my wife went to get him from the cage and brought him to the waiting area; he was very heavily drugged and just staring at the floor; took him around one minute of listening to my voice before he began to look at me knelt down beside him, then he tried to react but he was way out of it,

The vet then came out to the waiting room and when he saw her hd began crying and peed the floor; poor fella, she quickly gave him the injection then I picked him up cupping his back legs to ensure he wasn't stretched and repeatedly told him it's ok were going home Liam,

His breathing relaxed after about two minutes and he was calm but still very sedate, got home and just like the kids when there not feeling well he wanted my wife to sit with him on the sofa,

Here he is at that time

20200622_170441.thumb.jpg.136042ba48c35a65fabeba88f3cbf2a4.jpg

barely able to stand just reaching out the paws and whimpering,

I then left him on the sofa with the wife and took the kids out in the car to the local chipper for a takeaway to create some quiet time in the house where hopefully he would get some sleep and be calm without noise.

When we got back he sat up and tried to hug me as he normally would when I get home but I lay down a bit to assist with the hug as he was determined and hurt himself when trying to get up as he Yelped like he had been struck by lightning then eased slowly sitting down.

I sat with him while the wife got somthing to eat and he was struggling to get comfortable when trying to lye down,

So I sat him on my lap facing towards me; put his front legs on my shoulders and a back leg on each of my legs,

He then agreed to rest his head on my shoulder this way his southern region was free of any pressure as it was inbetween my legs,

He slept like that for almost two hours,

I stayed up all throughout Monday night to ensure he was alright, he was feeling strange and walking around the house just looking at ornaments and the walls perhaps they were all talking to him or something physcdellic 😅

his sense of smell came back at around 2am Tuesday morning; had him out the back garden on the lead for precaution to insure he didn't run or anything and he began sniffing around again.

He later drank lots of water at 4am

He did try to lick the stitches but stopped anytime we said his name; he is very good, didnt put up any struggle atall with the vets just tried to get away; and didnt mind wearing the inflatable collar neither

20200623_080830.thumb.jpg.28b2894ca7dcb0bc2d89135b6cd87e0e.jpg

Here he was Tuesday morning; returning to himself; he had his first feed at 10am Tuesday morning which was the first since 18:00 on Sunday night.

20200623_194900.thumb.jpg.1ce9a90847ccf908925a0a93c3e93239.jpg

20200625_091952.thumb.jpg.407acb36df9110a716c801f600bab16a.jpg

Wednesday then we were allowed to remove the inflated collar and hes more like himself now; wants to run around and play now; but hes not allowed to be walked or run around for a total of ten days,

He seems to be alot more affectionate and wanting to be held in recent days since the recovery period; perhaps it has brought him closer to us as it would have been somewhat difficult time for him and we were there as much as possible to comfort him.

I'm glad got it done as we wont be breeding him and I don't want to risk them turning cancerous due to lack of use, glad it's over for him now too.

I've alway's found dog's and cat's bounce back really well from opps..good to see he is fine..love cat's and dog's...
My jack russell is having her teeth cleaned friday morning and anything bad pulled, although as far as i can see there just a bit yellow, has a dentistick every day..
But it look's like she also has a tumour,so they are going to take 2 syringe sample's while she is out...any teeth they say they have taken out i will want to see them and exactly where they were taken from..lower bite left/right,upper bite left/right.
You take care now..

Took Peggy, my jack russell to the vet's i Moreton this morning 9.30am, totally yapped her high head off.. took her outside to calm down, there were 3 other dog's awaiting their turn, so waited till last..even though my appointment was first in line at 9.30 am!!! ( No food since 4pm yesterday and no water acter 8pm..) Asked if would sit with her while thay darted her chunky right thigh, sat on my lap till the knockout worked, threw up over my right 'sandelesque foot and floor,so quickly wiped it up while the room was empty...apart from 2 security camera's..
Collected her at 1pm..looking a bit wobegone..teeth scaled and polished up a bit, one rear moler extraction, and 2 syringe drawn biopsy samples which have been sent off already.
Glad she is back home having a full blown mongout...no walk tonight i don't thinketh?
Back on Monday afternoon to just check her out...do not know if they will have the biopsy result's by then....
If the pic's are there you can make out the bump on her belly..
It was where they originally finished zipping her up after hystorectamy, you know were they remove all the reprodcing organs and bit's, i feel guilty that she should of had this done at a much younger age like 2-3 yr old when my late Mother decided she didn't want her having pups, and didn't want to have her sterilised..
Why are most woman..hunan and canine as a rule more problematic than us Bloke's..[emoji850]
Tudilpip for now you cool ford fella's who like thier 4 legged companion's..

Des..
Ps..were did i see on the forum that the mk3 mondog is not..i repeat...is NOT a DRIVER'S CAR....[emoji54][emoji26][emoji25][emoji2959]2688f67d0f9f122b360aa3d12dc4d90c.jpga6124a343a32f194d841d00eec43d495.jpg
