Coolant leak

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I have MK2 ti vct focus 79000 on clock and found my coolant have half disappeared. It took pint water to get back level on mark.

I had little look it this afternoon and found to right of sump on bottom of sump it was wet and there like a join few inches just to right sump and that was wet to.

Any idea what this is.

Had little read up few forum bout thermostats and they saying this car has 2 thermostats a focus MK2 ti vct is that correct always thought cars had one.

And where are they.

Thanks guys

I really don't want to be a doomster (!), but I too had a recent coolant leak. All sorted now, but wasn't cheap. I hope your's is caused by something much more insignificant, and cheap!

Looking under bonnet today I found a screw thread with wire plug on it, it's under the coil pack on right hand side of ti vct engine and the thread was covered in pink. Is this anything to worry about.

My temp gauge inside car never goes past halfway sits just under 90c mark halfway, I did the dash stalk trick thing and said my engine temperature was 136c.

Please thought on the above 2 paragraphs

Thank you.
