hi

how do i empty the contents of a full diesel tank on my 2005 focus 2.0 tdci ?

i dont have a 2 poster lift etc, so either need to do it from the engine bay or worst case underneath the car on the ground

can i just use the small plastic diesel return fuel line pipe behind the fuel filter at the front top of the engine to drain all 60 quids worth into two 25L plastic jerry cans?

Yes you can us the plastic fuel pipes, though I'd use an intake line rather than a return line.  You'll need some sort of pump though, there's no tank pump on these.

You might be able to use gravity and the syphon method if it get it started with a hand pump...or by sucking it if you're brave enough lol.

thanks for that, cant i just run the engine and leave it idling and use the diesel return pipe and pump into jerry cans and not back into the fuel tank as normal?

or would the flow rate be too crap and take ages?

Yeah you could do that but I the flow rate would be awful as you suggested.
