Mondeo ST TDCi, Performance Blue, Ultra Low Mileage

Hi all,

Sadly I'm forced to sell my very little used, but much appreciated Mondeo Mk 3 ST TDCi. For the last year or two it has mostly sat outside the house, not being used and so is costing me money without moving an inch. Far better that it goes to an appreciative owner who will use it and enjoy driving it.

ULTRA LOW MILEAGE - just over 36,000 guaranteed miles and full annual service history

 

Performance blue
Manual transmission
Standard ST stiffened and lowered sports suspension
Acceleration: 8.7 seconds (0-62 mph) – it really goes on the motorway where you can use the 360ft-lbs of torque to leave other cars behind.
Top Speed: 136 mph
Tyres are all in good condition with plenty of tread left.

Annual service and MOT: these are due shortly so I will make arrangements for them to be done so that the buyer has a full year before either is due.
NO significant advisories. I’ve had to use “Trust Ford” for servicing (which is the most ironically named organisation I know) for several years and they are always looking for ways to extract more cash without justification (ask me about the incident with the rear indicator bulbs!).

I bought the car at 6 months old from the TC Harrison Ford dealership in Peterborough as an ex-demonstration vehicle. Over the entire time of ownership I’ve had very few problems: the EGR valve has been replaced and earlier this year it has had a new power steering pump, and new exhaust. It still drives and performs superbly.

Generally excellent condition inside and out, though there are some things needing attention:

1. The alloy wheels are in poor condition due to living in London on a road with the most excessive camber you will ever see. It was only a matter of time before they had a coming together with the kerb.
2. I had to replace the radiator grille after some moron took a shine to it and left me with a yawning gap. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a grille for an ST at a sensible price at the time, so the one fitted is from a standard Mondeo. If I can find the right grille I will fit it before sale.
3. There is one small dent in the rear driver side door. Unfortunately it is on the door crease so it is a little noticeable.

Nice car. Would love to own it but with the London mayor and ULEZ and its suspected expansion in 2021 its probably best for someone living outside the city ☹️

Update: I've now acquired a replacement radiator grille which will be fitted for the benefit of the new owner - and it comes with the option of a nice ST badge!

Thanks everyone who has had a look. I've dropped the asking prce on Gumtree to £3,795 as my annual parking zone renewal notice has just arrived and it would be good to avoid having to Shell out more money for little use.

Just a quick update to say that I have sold my fantastically reliable Mondeo ST.  After little or no interest in the first Gumtree advert, I relisted the Friday before last (22nd) and have had four or five serious enquiries. It's now benefiting from the attentions of a new owner in Shoreham-by-Sea. As you would expect I didn't get the full asking price - and I had to fork out £135 for a new battery and then £400 for new front suspension lower arms when TrustFord did the service - but it is a 13 year old car and my running costs have been very reasonable overall.
