Focus Mark 2 Misfire- SOLVED

Featured Replies

First post on this forum :) Thought I'd start a thread for misfire problems since it's a common one for mark 2s.

Got my car a few months ago, and developed a misfire code on cylinder one (P301). Coil pack, leads and spark plugs all replaced but no luck. Dried out the inside of the cylinders, still to no luck. Noticed every time I sprayed the windows the car would misfire again- so bought a Volvo engine cover from eBay for £30 and it seems to have solved it. No more misfires!

Here's where I got the cover: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Focus-Water-Leak-Mod-1-4-1-6-Zetec-Genuine-Volvo-Engine-Cover-30650468/183871760090?epid=725305405&hash=item2acf9c66da:g:K1YAAOSwz~JdPu3p

The Volvo 1.6s share the same engines as the Focuses, so it fits perfectly and keeps water out! Hope this helps for anyone with the same headache.
