Focus 2008 Rear Wheel Arch Screws.

Featured Replies

I fitted some mudflaps to my 2008 Focus, used two of the screws holding the wheel arch liner. Now one of the screws has stripped or got broken by an impact or something and nothing is holding the flap or the liner in that location, trying to put a new screw in and it's just spinning. Does it screw into a grommet that I can replace or has it damaged the actual bodywork hangar if it screws directly into that? If it screws directly into the hangar can I drill the hole out and put a nut and bolt there instead?

I'm pretty sure they screw into a plastic threaded clip. It doesn't take an impact to damage them, just tightening too hard by hand.

I replaced mine with a plastic push rivet.

I took the liner off a bit to try and see. It dosen't seem to be screwed into a removable clip unless it's a type I've not seen before. For now I've squirted some superglue in the hole and put the screw in as much as I could. Hopefully it holds because it didn't seem to actually be completely stripped, the screw holds when theres no strain on it.
