Does anyone know how easy retro-fitting folding mirrors to a mk3 would be please?  Heated ones if possible.

on my mk6.5 fiesta the way to lock it without mirrors autofolding was to use the key in the driver's door lock. But that does have the downside of not having the deadlocks on.

I kind of prefer the folding mirrors on my wife's mazda2 . it is not linked to locking. It just has a button on the driver's door armrest to fold in and fold out when you think you need it. This way they get less use also eg. if parked on my own drive I would not bother folding them in.  pros and cons - I might forget to fold them when parking somewhere narrow

I never know why folk want to disable this top function. On my old Mitsubishi FTO, the folding mirrors were used about 6 times consistently/day over an 8 year period linked to the central locking, they didn't falter once. I'd love them on my Mk2 Focus!

That's Jap build quality though...  The Ford ones seem to break easily!!

I did have them on my Mk2 facelift and one of the Mk3s without a problem but I've seen plenty of threads on broken ones over the years.

My friend had one, we always use to marvel at the way it drank petrol at a rate of 18Mpg! LOL

"The Ford ones seem to break easily!! "  had them on my previous Fiesta, the passenger side went wrong after 5 or 6 years.
