Faulty ignition barrel

Featured Replies

my  ignition barrel failed 2010 1.8 focus  and the garage i use have told me i need to have it rebuilt by ford in boston uk im just wondering has anyone had this done and what sort of price do people think im looking at paying

That is complete rubbish. Every Ford dealer or independent garage should be able to assemble a new ignition barrel that matches the keys.

There is an ignition lock barrel kit available from Ford that contains the lock barrel and a number of different lock plates. The lock plates are numbered for easy identification. The new lock barrel can easily be assembled by using the old disassembled lock barrel as a guide/template or by "reading" the code of the keyblade.
