Focus Mk2.5 Cluster butchery

Featured Replies

I have a 2008 1.6TDCI with red face lift lcd cluster.

The car is turning out to be a nightmare, at first I noticed the fuel light was not going out even do the gauge is working and showing half full,

the next strange thing was odometer was reading in Kms, but the clocks are U.K. clocks.

i removed to inspect to find that the LED’s for engine check light and battery light have been removed, and there also the green item in sample picture has been removed.. What is it??

im trying to establish wtf has been done to the car and whether buying another cluster  is my solution.

i would really appreciate any help I can get please

I was going to suggest that under the assumption you have recently bought the car, you contact the seller, as to remove the engine management light is an instant MOT failure, then I noticed your location.  I'm not sure if it';s the same with your NCT examination. However, even in the UK, if someone removes that light, it doesn't bode well. I can think of no 'good' reason to remove them. If you were able, I would plug the beast into a diagnostic tool to see what fault codes occur to aid further diagnosis. Best of luck buddy, maybe you'll find a four leafed clover on your travels... 😀

miles / km  - on some cars you can change between the 2 on the menu settings. I don't know specifically about yours.

in the UK the engine check light would only be MOT test problem if car was July 2008 or newer (for diesel, it is much earlier for petrol).

I agree that it must be the case that the LED was removed as there is a problem.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the keys need reprogramming if you change the instrument cluster.

I don't know if this is a good car or a cheap car.  if it all drives fine and it is not a problem for NCT I might be tempted to leave it how it is
