[HELP] Ford Focus MK1 4 years problem !

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've a Ford Focus MK1 Zetec 1.6L since 4 years. Since I was bought it, the car has these problems😢:

  • Speedo problem (it jumps all the time +/- 5km/h) and running rough.
  • It has an idle speed and flickering lights problem (randomly when I stop on traffic lights the revs are up and down (see the video attached)).
  • When revs are up and down and stopped, the odometer increments some meters and the signal (by OBD) is like the car is moving ! LOL

And this is what I have checked/replaced:

  • Speedo replaced (performs better, but still jumping).
  • Idle Control Valve replaced (performs better, but still bad idle).
  • Checked alternator and disconnected the Smart Charge plug to test it (all looks ok).
  • Repaired some ground wires (still with problems).
  • I separeted the temp sensor wire out of HT leads.

Thank you in advance !
