Buzzing Noise From Blower

Hi Guys,

I have a Mondeo MK3 1.8L Graphite. I am having issues with the blower direction control and I cant seem to find how to fix it.

Essentially what is happening is, when I try to put the blower onto the windscreen it blows into the footwell instead and there is a electical buzzing noise that sometimes comes from somewhere around center console. I have checked the blower motor itself (that's fine), but the buzzing appears to be somewhere else.

Is there a separate unit that controls the direction of the airflow? If so, is it easy to replace?
