Aukey Dashcam & AUKEY Hardwired ODB port kit - A drawback!

Featured Replies

I've just fitted an AUKEY DR02 Dashcam (https://www.amazon.co.uk/AUKEY-Supercapacitor-Wide-Angle-Detection-Dual-Port/dp/B075T8H9XJ) to my Ford Focus (2015) and just thought I'd let you know of a drawback if you decide to use the AUKEY Hardwired Kit (https://www.amazon.co.uk/AUKEY-Hardwire-Detection-Dashboard-Cameras/dp/B07N775LPM)

The ODB port is fitted right behind the pull down coin tray but with the hardwired kit connector fitted, the coin tray fouls it and won't close. I've therefore had to remove the coin tray to allow the coin door/lid to close. No big deal, but thought I'd mention it if anyone was considering this for their Focus. I fitted the same camera and hardwired kit to the wife's 2017 Fiesta and didn't have the same issue.

In hindsight, I'd have gone for an alternative hardwired kit - one that uses the fuse box instead of ODB port.

Hope this helps someone.

Would it be more room if you unclip the obd port?
