EDIT

Found the guide

use search

you need the four spoke button steering wheel and air bag cover (easier to buy the whole lot) then hack around with the engine map to enable... quite a few posts with lots of detail (search with google its faster and more reliable)

I can confirm I did this on my own 1.6, 2009 model Focus after changing the steering wheel. You will need an ELM cable which is compatible with HS and MS CANBUS, essentially it'll have a switch on it and it goes from OBD to USB port. (I got mine from Amzn if I remember correctly but TunnelRat Electronics is something you should have a google of)

As mentioned, you'll need a wheel and airbag with the buttons already fitted, although there are chinese options available to add to the 3 spoke wheel I cant comment for how reliable they would be. You're really only adding buttons and a resistor to the end of a plug already present behind your current wheel.

IIRC you can check by seeing if the empty plug is there and the revision number on your hardware under the footwell. Wiring can be added manually if you're up for it, but I'm afraid I have no links to anything as I'm on limited jet again... Search the forum, theres a few big posts, just be sure to read everything so you know what people have encountered. Oh, and make sure you keep a backup of EVERYTHING!
