Zetec turbo guide

Hi guys I'm looking at doing a 2 ltr zetec turbo build on a budget of 2k .can you advise me on best way to lower compression by decom plate or piston swap,inlet manifold and injector options and engine management .

Years ago I had mk1 cortina that someone had done some tuning work on, it was very rapid but pinked like mad . I lowered the compression ratio by putting 2 head gaskets on it. It was fine after that
