Noisy heater blower

Featured Replies

Hi all... Have acquired as new shed an 07 1.8 Tdci Focus LX. All (mostly) okay aside from the racket when turn the blower on. Was looking to see if could replace as can pick up replacements on eBay cheap enough, but can’t work out how to remove it. Can access by removing glove box, but is tucked over to the right of this sideways on. The flap actuator thing on the end can be removed, but access to the motor itself is tight, and not clear how to remove that itself.

Looked online and bits seem to refer to it being vertically mounted more directly behind/under glovebox, but mine isn’t. Is it going to involve dismantling bits of dash?

no idea how to remove. often electric motors / fans get noisy due to lack of lubrication on the bearings. once removed you might find you can fix it without paying a penny (if you already have oil/grease). but you must make sure you don't put so much on that it gets on the commutator/carbon brushes.
