Ford Credit had been advised that F9 should be available some time in June!

Ah! but which year, they didn't say June 2020

Haha this is just so true of the attitude Ford are taking to this important issue which is effecting so many.

Cheers Matt, but can these be used on sync 2 systems? How do you create the card? I did it a few years ago and there are some steps but don't remember

No, these are for sync3 only.  Possibly for 3.4 only not sure.

  • 3 weeks later...

Another month passes and still no sign of Ford issuing the F9 map updates.

The consumer upgrade package for 3.0 is now on the ford servers. So it shouldn’t be long now.

I got a mail from fordpass yesterday saying my live traffic is about to run out and I can sub if I want. I do feel it's a bit of a cheek given the shambles of their nav system. I've never had any real benefit to live traffic anyway so won't be subscribing.

Hi, how much was the subscription?

I think the cost is about £1.50 per month?  But like GillyAllan says, ive always found the traffic updates wrong and never actually helpful. I much prefer using Waze.

Also F9 maps are now available for download from UK Ford!!  So fill ya boots.

Its only the 3.0 map update that's become available.

Cars post MY 18.5 are on 3.2/3.3/3.4 and no update is available for them yet.

Sorry to all your Ford owners of newer cars then, its strange how they dont seem to be sorting you out?!

So far for me to update my system, its taken 40 mins, then system restarts itself, then another 15 mins before it needs the complete car shut down and restart.

Ive now uploaded my log file to ford and there is now another 8.1Gb file to download.

There have been a better way for all this to be updated - anyhow, I feel another drive coming on. . . .

Did you do this over Wi-fi? Or USB stick?

Alex, can you cast your eye into your crystal ball and predict when or if the update for all us post MY 18.5 vehicle owners will be released ?

I shouldn't worry ,given Ford's track record you wont get updates very often.

Just managed to update the Kuga to F9 maps. Sync 3.0 build 19205.

Bit annoying it’s now more up to date than our new Focus. Sync 3.4 build 19200 on F8 maps.
yesterday the ford update site was saying no update but today it says try again later - could something be on the way?

The Ford site is still telling me I’m bang up to date with my 3 years old maps! I feel blessed 😡

I did this via the Ford Sync update section on their website, and extracting the download to USB stick.

As for having newer maps on your post MY18.5 - the F9 maps ive just updated to dont seem to be that up-to-date!!

F9 for Sync 3.0 is from April 2019.

At least that's when it was packaged/uploaded. The actual data may be older than that, however I believe the idea is that the 9 of F9 means they are 2019 maps.

So over a year old maps. Wow.

Someone said after the 2 parts of the map update and letting the servers know, there was another 8gb download. Do we know what that was for or done?
