Mk3 Mondeo folding mirror problem

I’ve recently bought a mk3 mondeo ST tdci. The passenger side mirror does not fold out into the correct position. Looking at the two mirrors when folded out the drivers side seems to fit tight in its position but the passenger one doesn’t.  It also doesn’t move the actual glass freely either. Specifically down and inwards seem to have little effect.

does the unit have the motor inside it or is it separate to it ?

im thinking I may have to replace the whole unit and if so does the colour coded section come off easily ?

There is nothing repairable in the mirror unit replacement is the answer yes the cover does come off, its a very easy swop once the door card is removed hard to spot screws in the door handle you need to prise of the handle cover after that it's dead easy one nut hold the mirror on.
