Is the Bonnet lip normal? Focus 2015

Featured Replies

I just bought a 2015 ford focus zetec S buy I've noticed the bonnet pops out a bit with a decent lip. I've tried to screw both rubber rests down fully but it makes no difference.

Donyou have pictures? Mine is flush on the ST, and also flush on the TitX by maybe has, I havent seen any 2015 (Facelift) models with  a gap, but I know the PFL ones had a but of a clearing on the nose.

Is the bumper levelled and sat correctly? I know I can 'adjust' mine to a degree if I lean on the bumper as I tighten the upper mount bracket bit from loose, but it's an incorrect fit if I do.

My 2016 Focus Titanium had the same problem from day one. Typical Ford ...

Also I've noticed my passenger rear door is not flush? It goes in so you see a big ledge from door to read of car? I'm starting to think my car has been in a crash or something...

Can you throw some pics up? I'll try compare to my own experiences; if it helps, having the doors of at all for anything generally means you'll rarely get them exactly as they once were.. Believe me, it's a real pig of a job!

ill put some pics up when its light tomorrow. theres paint on the black trim on the from passenger door which makes me think the door or doors were damaged and replaced and sprayed before which could maybe be why its not been done properly.

Hmmm that does sound a little dubious. Is there any evidence of a crash under the wing/bonnet area? I've had that silver one and seen plenty of over spray near the arch liners etc. on the inside where its had a prang before.

The bonnet, bumper, wing and door were all resprayed and I don't think i would have noticed if it wasn't for that and a mis-placed radiator duct piece.

For contrast my sister Fiesta has had both doors sprayed recently due to tree sap eating away at the laquer and it looks like its had a bad repair from a crash! Wasn't too pleased when she brought it over for me to look at after paying best part of £400 for it to boot 😖

*Here's mine for reference, I've seen one white one recently where the gap was less tight than mine, but overall the few I know and the lads I work with are all very similar.

Mine sticks up more towards the middle and is uneven looking on each side where it turns up towards the windscreen.

Ok so i finally took the pics. As you can see on first top 2 pics there's a gap and raise towards left center side.

I see what you mean, its almost as if someone has leant really hard on the edges to close it and bent them slightly. I know another lad who has a bit of a struggle closing his, the catch seems to be really really stiff and really pushed the bonnet up in the middle when you try closing. I'll see if I can see him today and grab a pic to compare.

Does the bonnet line up otherwise with the lights okay?

It's really starting to annoy me though. I wonder how the hell it ended up like that and why and if it's even fixable which if it's not would be fked as i just paid £9k for it 3 weeks ago.

Couple of things to try and establish first, is it the bonnet at fault, or is it the bumper 'nose' that's dropped in the middle? Mine is all damaged inside and had to get the bumper off to repair but got lucky in that it didn't say at all, and the mounting and locator points were still usable. I've had someone slide down the front of the car too which has really bugged the crap out of me (paintwork scratches) but it didn't break the nose which was fortunate.

Metal, if it is the bonnet, can be manipulated so that makes things a bit easier. Plastics break and can be hard to sort as easily at times.

Still waiting on seeing the lad at work but when i do I'll grab a snap still.
