dumpy
So I have a 2016 titanium x sport 2.0 diesel with the 180 bhp engine. I'm looking at getting a blue fin remap but I've never had one on a car before. The consensus seems to be to go for it... but .. For those in the know how does it fair with the clutch (it's a manual) and other "running gear" also does it cause issues with the dpf (15 mile commute over twisty and also dual carriageway A roads) Also anyone know if swift cover insurance will punish me financially for having the map done
DAN@ADRIAN FLUX
Hi. If you have any issues with insurance for a re-map then please fell free to drop me a line. Regards, Dan.
S88RKR
Bluefin is mapped to work within tolerances of mechanical pressures meaning effects on gearbox and transmission is fine, clutch wear is different however as itll just depend on your driving style, if you ‘drag’ the clutch whilst engaging the throttle you might find wear more but that would happen with or without a remap. I have the 150bhp 2wd version and its Bluefin remapped, i havent seen anything happen so far, ive also have had a fair few mapped diesels over the years and again nothing has gone wrong. hope it helps!

sussamb
Likewise, on my previous Ford, a Mondeo, and now on my Ford Focus 1.6 EcoBoost. Best money I ever spent 🙂
bashbarnard
I don't think I've ever had a diesel that wasn't remapped straight after purchase [emoji23]Sent from my SM-A505FN using Tapatalk
Guy Heaton
Yep, I've sensibly remapped a Bora and a Focus diesel. Went for a map I knew wouldn't overload the turbo or the clutch and never had any issues.
