Focus Mk. 2.5 Central locking issue.

Featured Replies

Good Evening, Chaps.

I've recently purchased a very cheap 08 Focus Mk 2.5 1.6 petrol for my mum to run around in, but the central locking doesn't work.

At first I thought it was the key fob, so I have changed the battery to see if it was flat, no dice. I then checked to see if any fuses had blown in the passenger footwell, an I couldn't find any fuses that were blown/missing from the central locking fuses that were shown in the handbook.

Would any of you guys know the next best course of action to take?

Cheers.

Do any of the buttons on the fob work? If not it might no be programmed to work with the car.

Step 1

Turn the ignition from "Off" to "Run" eight times in 10 seconds. The locks will cycle to confirm that you've entered programming mode.

Step 2

Press any key on the first remote you're programming. Perform this within 20 seconds of Step 1. The door locks will cycle to confirm programming.

Step 3

Repeat Step 2 with each additional remote, within 20 seconds of the prior programming. The locks will cycle after each successful programming.

Turn the key to the "Off" position to exit the programming mode.

Tip

  • Entering the programming mode erases the Focus computer's memory of all previous authorizations. Therefore, you must program all remotes that you want to work all in the same session, even if some are already working.
