Focus 1.6 2003 model blower issue

Featured Replies

Hey guys hoping maybe somone could give me some advice,

my car has been making noises the past few months squeaking then suddenly it stops blowing air all together hot or cold, when I press the a/c button it shows up a light but still the motor is not spinning under the passenger side and there’s zero air coming out of the vents on any number speed..

hopfully somone has had an issue similar before and could give me some advice around this, thanks so much for reading

I’ve checked the fuse which is good and I’ve checked the relay also seems to be fine!

I turn the dial to anything above 1 and the ac light will turn on but no air at all the motor is just not spinning at any speed..

will my resistor be bad? I thought normally it would work on at least 1 of the 4 speeds if that was the case.. could it be a bad motor? What should I be looking for? Thanks

Also checked the clutch belt is on and spinning looks all good down there

The bearing in the blower motor is at fault, a common problem with this Focus, mine did exactly the same thing. Change out the blower unit,  you can test it by disconnecting the wiring plug and connecting 2 wires from it directly to a battery, if it does the same, which it probably will, there's your problem. Plenty of used ones on eBay for around 20 notes but ask the seller to test it before you commit to buy.
