Wing Nut Help Needed

Featured Replies

After a false start finally have a new wing coming for my MK2 Focus ST. However I am hoping someone can help me find the right bolts I need, there are 2 bolts missing from my current wing.

The 2 bolts underneath the car where the wing is attached to the sill are so rusted I can't identify them

I have checked zap and it says I need Ford 1020563, however I cannot find them anywhere, does anyone know where I can get them or equivalent?

Thank you

I replaced the wings on my MK2 a few years ago because they were rotting through at the bottom and I found the 2 bolts you mentioned a royal pain to remove without snapping them.  Have you tried calling TrustFord as I've found in the past they can usually get hold of tricky little parts but be prepared to pay "Ford" prices and if you do get round to doing the job, be prepared for the possibility that 1 or more bolts may snap and need to be drilled out/retapped etc.

Hi,

It does look like they may be broken when I try to remove them so I will give the place a go you mention as there are a couple of other bolts that apparently main dealers no longer do or can't get hold of!

I had a BMW once and cried my eyes out at a price of a single bolt so I am fully prepared with a box of mansize tissues 🙂

Well no joy getting those screws, does anyone know any alternative screws that will fit the bottom of the wing on? Apparently is M6 X 16MM . No one can supply the original part number it seems! Find that hard to believe considering how many cars use this type of screw/bolt.

I did search for the size but as you can see from your link there are many different types and no idea what the original screw looks like!

They do look similar actually, makes sense they would change the part number based on the year of the car but keep the same design. Will give them a go! Thanks

Confirmed from a Ford dealer that screw is the correct one, thanks for your help.

Though one part number for the same part would save a lot of time 🙂
