BigLog
Looking to speed up my 2013 Ford Fiesta, but as it’s a standard 1.25 petrol without a turbo, I don’t know what to do? I’m new to this. I don’t mind spending a lot on it, I want to to feel a little more unhinged, is putting a turbo in an option? If so what else will I have to change? Any suggestions are welcome, I’m going wild with it as I have another daily run around
Luke4efc
Sure you can turbo it, but it will cost you about as much as what you paid for the car in the first place. Alternatively sell yours and buy a 1.0L ecoboost. Only a couple grand more, but will have about as much power as what you'd get out of turboing yours. You really can't get much power out of the 1.25 without spending serious money on it. Remaps won't get you more than about 10hp increase (even then you'll struggle to notice it).
Eric Bloodaxe
Yes, as Luke says. This and similar topics crop up regularly (e.g. as below). The 1.25 is a great little engine but not really a realistic tuning proposition.
BigLog
Ah okay understood, I’ll stick to cosmetic changes for now then& buy a more tunable car in the future, cheers for the help!
