i have a 2007 ford focus 1.6i hatchback, the battery went flat so i jumped it and drove to buy a new battery, two days later

the car did not want to start, no ignition no lights on dashboard, i brought a auto electrician and he managed to get the lights on the dashboard working but no start no crank, he said there is no signal from ecu to key. What could be the problem?
