Engine

Featured Replies

Bought a 2002 focus cl with 80k on clock, cambelt went shortly after and looking to replace the engine. Ebay has a potential one listed but the photo shows zetec s instead of se like mine does on engine cover.  Will this fit guys what's your opinion. Many thanks

I'm not sure about the rocker covers, probably just branding rather than anything descriptive.  Was the engine code listed?  Should be FXDB I think.

The Zetec-S is the predecessor of the Zetec-SE. Despite being based on the same base engine (Sigma engine family) there are also quite some differences.

It is possible to change a Zetec-SE for an older Zetec-E but this requires a lot more parts than just the engine. The PCM, engine wiring harness and several auxiliary parts will also be different and need to be changed. It is a lot more work than just installing another Zetec-SE engine.
