Correct Spare Wheel size

Featured Replies

Hello all. I'm new to this forum but not new to a Ford my first being a Escort MK1 made to look like a Mexico. I was young, don't judge 😃, and many other fords since.

To the point i have recently bought a 2009 MK2 Focus 1.6 TD Econetic Estate to use for business. Its absolutely fine for what i need it to do but it has no spare wheel just the horrible gunk and compressor. This particular model has 15"  5 stud steel wheels with 195/65 R15 tyres. I have looked all over the net and cant seem to find an appropriate spare wheel, only ones i can see are 16" space savers. Would someone possibly know if the 16" space saver is correct or what is the right one to use. Thanks

my brother has a 2008 mk2.5 estate and that has a full size spare that is identical to the other wheels on the car (steel wheels) . It fits fine in the space under the boot floor.

Just buy a 'normal'  wheel not one that is designed to be a spare.

actually I was just looking on ebay and 15inch with five bolt holes for focus seems very rare (most 15 inch have 4 bolt holes for mk1 focus).

Perhaps only the Econetic had that size and that's why they are rare.

But it looks to me like they might be identical for Ford Transit Connect wheels, so you could check that out maybe.

perhaps put a photo of one of your wheels on here and someone who has more experience of the different wheels might answer. Not sure if yours has circular holes in (like those transit connect wheels) or oval slots  (obviously I am talking about the holes near the edge, not the bolt holes)

The Mk2 Studio also has steel wheels...but they're 5 spoke and look like alloys with the 5 spoke plastic trims fitted (...from a distance...if you squint!).  The 16" space saver will be absolutely fine if you can't find a full size spare.
