2013 Multimedia upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi all,

new to the group hoping to get a little help,

Im looking to upgrade my multimedia system in my Ford Focus 2013 model, I've seen a few articles if you want to upgrade to an aftermarket unit but i would like to upgrade to the 2015 Focus facelift multimedia system.

My questions are:

  1. Is the 2015 Focus multimedia system compatible with the 2013 focus?
  2. Would i need any adapters?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

It does fit, but it's a massive and expensive job certainly nowhere near a plug and play. Talking a pretty much full interior out jobbie needing a few more modules, wiring looms (one of which you'll have to splice together yourself). Oh and it doesn't quite fit so you have to dremel some of the brackets

Agreed, would be much easier to install the Chinese android units, they're basically plug and play, just no DAB.

Not a massive job at all you’ve just got to be comfortable pulling things apart.

a lot of us here have fitted sync 2 and 3 to our cars. A harness adapter off amazon makes the job a lot easier.

sync 3 can be expensive but can be had for a good price. But sync 2 comes up cheaper and still a vast improvement.

I've got the sync2 system in a box that I took out when I upgraded to sync 3 if your interested.

Comes with screen, media loom, facia, and card reader and CD player. Dunno what else you would need but I got all that.

Matt
