Focus MK3 TDCI EGR valve stuck close

Hi so the last week i got a check engin light after cheking it i got code P042f(EGR stuck closed) the car doesn't seem different no limp mode or anything.

i would like to try to clean it or perform a test to check if it need's to be replaced(since it's pretty expensive and not even reliable to get one"not new" where i am from.

and if you have any idea related or can help.

    where can i spray it air filter intake ?

    and is it easy to detach it so i can clean it?

    Is it a 1.6 or 2.0 TDCi?  

    The valve should open at part throttle and should close when you accelerate hard.  If it's not opening at all it does sound like a wiring fault.  Have you got a multimeter to check wiring yourself?

    yeah a bit late to the party(not like i was the only one) this is what the shop did they found the signal wire cut and the egr motor gone so i got i new one and they fixed the cable
