MkIV - How to easily stop navigation without using the touchscreen

Featured Replies

Hi all

Still getting used to the Focus...done around 600 miles since December. I am sure there's a simple way to do this, but I am not sure how.

When I set the Navigation to get me home from a location, when I am at familiar surroundings I can get home easily, without any help. How do I stop the

navigation. I have tried to switch it off by muting the sound, but it still continues to give me directions - all I really want to do is cancel further navigation.

Is there a way to cancel a route once set without touching the screen (whilst driving)?

Thanks

Just press the voice button on the steering wheel and say Cancel Route.

You can use it to set a route also.

The database for places is very poor, not nearly as good as Google Maps, so most of the time you need to know a street name or postcode. Other than that it is an excellent system and visually knocks spots off Google Maps.

Oh I agree. As soon as I got the car I tried both Waze & Google Maps via Android Auto. The in built maps and voice is much nicer.

Thanks for your help...from a novice 😀

You also really need to use the voice system to make phone calls. Using the touch screen to make calls is anything but 'hands free'.

There a list of voice commands in this thread

Really easy to use. I’m a novice too! But had the car since October. Press the steering wheel button once ..your talking to sync..tell it your destination etc. Make phone calls if you’ve got your phone paired up with it. Also if you hold the steering wheel button for 3 seconds you’re then talking to your phone.. ie Siri if you have an iPhone or google assistant if you have android. All new to me but I’ve had a Amazon echo dot in the house for a few months so kinda used to talking to a computer..

i currently have iPhone . Works well
