Hi I need help on my focus

Featured Replies

Hi I have recently replaced discs and pads on my 2012 focus and the left hand side front keeps vibrating it has recently passed mot just wondering if anyone could help

Did you clean the disc to hub face before you fitted the new discs? It could also be a tyre too

Yeah I cleaned the face and i have got 2 brand new tyres on the front

is the caliper tight?

Perhaps they balanced that tyre wrong or the weight has dropped off?

also possibly a slighly warped disc.   iv had it before even on brembo discs. was told its the poor quality they are made of these days.

Caliper is tight and I'll replace the discs again see if that cures it thank you

This is exactly what happened to me, 4 brand new tyres right before xmas and I had vibration, took it back today and they said whoever did the balancing done it completely wrong, weights in the wrong place etc, I then pointed out it was them, awkward silence followed

Does my disc need a bolt in the middle like a screw I'm having an argument with my dad

In the middle?  Sounds like you might have lost the hub bolt if there's nothing in the middle!

But no, the disc doesn't need any screws.  They just have a screw on cars with wheel bolts to hold the disc still when you change wheels.  With studs and nuts this isn't a problem.  The wheel nuts/bolts hold the disc tightly when the wheel is fitted.

Hahaha nope my hub nut is still there haha ok, you have just settled a argument in my house, I thought that but my dad was putting doubt in my head, I'm going to get better discs put on I put cheap ones on because I had no money at the time so needed cheap ones thank you
