MK2 2.0 TDCI

Featured Replies

Hello everyone! I’m new here...

Apologies for new topic, hope it’s okay, got issues with my ford.

it’s 2.0 TDCI 59 plate

She’s done high mileage 230K, had her for two years no issues whatsoever, in fact received plenty of compliments about how mint she’s been going .

(cambelt replacement, full service done, MOT’d few months ago)

Since two days she’s got loss power, as soon as I press accelerator fuel consumption goes from roughly 7l/100 to 32-40, surprisingly when on cruise control fuel consumption goes right down.

No smoke coming out, oil filled, no lights on dashboard , unplugged battery overnight to reset computer (don’t have OBD yet- coming on Monday) car starts on first turn of the key, other than being sluggish no other issues. Doesn’t overheat either. No sounds from the engine or so.

any ideas what it could be?

I’m worried it might be turbo failing... or injectors ?

She’s a brilliant car, never failed gotta admit I struggle financially (just sorting my move up north etc) ... any advice would be appreciated!

Can’t find edit - OBD tested and no codes...

Did you use Forscan or just a generic OBD reader?

Just generic one..

Suspecting leak somewhere/crack in a hose, hoping to get mechanic to look at it before Wednesday - 4hrs journey

Ok, you really need Ford specific stuff, the generic ones rarely pick up faults!
