Problems with the aux system

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I have had my 2008 focus for 2 years with no issues, I use the aux port in the glovebox daily but it suddenly started to play a noise over the music I am trying to play. Now when using the CD or radio there is no problem or other unwanted noise over either speaker channels. So I assumed that it was the aux port that was worn or damaged so I ordered a new one and fitted it but the same problem still exists. Has anyone encountered this or does anyone have any advice.

Thanks very much.

did you do any work under the dash, they can pick up noise from other signals / wiring.

a ground loop isolator (google it) can help, but shouldn't be needed.... unless something else has moved or now creating more electrical noise..... did you buy  a sh** 12v cigarette adaptor

I have a cheap 12v adapter for my dash cam but it was fine before. Its has been the same one since I bought the car.  No nothing has changed. I will google the ground loop isolator.

Thanks.

unplug the cheap adaptor..... bet the noise goes.  Chinese garbage, probably worn out

(did it work for longer than a day? - if so must have been a posh one with a 1 week warranty)

The adapter been unplugged hasn't made a difference but I ordered a ground loop isolator, so I will try that once it arrives. I will let you know. Thanks again.
