MK2 boot light microswitch

Hi , got a MK2 focus with an intermittent boot light, been told it's a possible sticking microswitch. Have checked the wiring under the rubber boot between boot and body. Is the switch located in the boot catch mechanism? If so has anyone taken the unit apart to clean ?

    LOL, this reminds me of my XR3i (1984), as it had a switch go in the tailgate as well. It was a 'mercury tilt switch' and I remember I had to get special written permission from the Ford dealership at the time to order one, as living in Northern Ireland, the switches were also commonly used for bomb detonation and were hard to get hold of! Aahhh... the memories... 😀

    Sounds like the dealership have previous (unknown by them) connections 🤔🤔

    Thanks for the replies, took the lock out but need a security bit to open , not in my standard kit, is it a special ford one ?
