Condensation In Headlight

Featured Replies

So one of my headlights has really bad condensation, could see a water droplet running down the inside, the other headlight is absolutely fine.

Looking through some posts some people have said silica gel works ok, but where exactly do you put it? I have xenon headlights. Do the headlights come apart or sealed? Any advice appreciated

Thanks

Just take off the headlight it's one screw and 2 clips holding it in then open the back of the main beam and put one in there that's what I done.

We just had one replaced under warranty on a 2017 (with one month left to go). Would have been £600 apparently for a new one. Ford suggested blowing a hair dryer or heat gun in there as they tried to get out of a replacement. I pointed out that wouldn't actually fix the problem.

if its of any intrest i have a titanium x with hopeless xenons and my lights both condense a bit depending on the weather.  they soon dry out though of their own accord without my intervention.

Thanks for the replies, one headlight is fine the other isn't. Bit odd but will try silica gel first then and see what happens.

Mine do dry out but not fully so I am guessing probably a fair bit of moisture inside

On the back of the headlight there are several small breather tubes - make sure those aren't blocked or obstructed.

Thanks will take the light out and have a look.
