Hi everyone i Have a ford focus titanium 2.0lt 2008 (58) . I am very impressed that mechanics and other knowledgeable people help others with problems they have with there cars  . I have just bought another ford car a ford focus diesel 58 plate 2.0 engine from a car salvage yard , damage was to the rear bumper which i am in the middle of solving but i am having problems getting it started . it cut out and now i am struggling to get it started  again .can anyone please give me any advice as to the cause of this and maybe also the solution or even just some advice on what i can do to get this car going again . any help would be much appreciated  thanks in advance . John

Can you give us any more information on the non-start?

Is it turning over quickly?  Does it occasionally catch or is there just no fuel getting to it?  Does it even have fuel in the tank?

Best option is to buy a modified ELM cable (£15) and use Forscan to check for fault codes but it's worth checking the obvious things like low fuel and low battery first.

Hi i put this on diagnostics and one of the codes was theft immobilizer and it cleared . but now when i try to start car it clicks once but wont turn over  . can you please give me advice on what this problem might be ? . Thanks John

Is the red immobiliser light flashing when you try to start?

Were there any other codes, relating to fuel pressure or injectors for example?
