graeme6
Hi all, started having problems with the car, getting a couple of faults showing up on ob11 reader. 2599 and 2563, both relating to turbo actuator position fault. Causes the car to run at reduced power as it stops the turbo boost kicking in. Had a look around for an actuator and sensor for the turbo but have been told the cannot be changed separately and the whole turbo needs to be changed. Been quoted £850 for new turbo fitted but would rather see if it is possible to get the actuator and sensor and try that first. Any advice would be much appreciated. As this is for the econetic model may be different to standard turbos. Thanks in advance Graeme
isetta
i am not really sure but i think some 1.6tdci cars have a fixed vane turbo and some have variable vane turbo. again i am not too sure but I think if it's 90-95bhp it has fixed vane, and if it's 100-115bhp it's variable vane. It might help someone else answer the query if you can say whether it's a fixed vane turbo or variable vane. Someone might know from pic if you don't how to tell the difference. Turbo is easy to get to on 1.6tdci so pic should be easy - get the actuating arm in the pic.
